Gaining Miles by Claire Kingsley

Hello, readers and writers!

Sadly, the Miles Family Series is coming to an end! You can find more of my reviews on each novel by searching Claire Kingsley on my blog or checking my Suggestions page. I would highly recommend this series as I loved each of the heroes and heroines on their journey.

Gaining Miles by Claire Kingsley

Synopsis:

Ben has had a thing for Shannon for a long time, but they’ve always just been friends. He’s watched from the sidelines as her marriage fell apart, feeling conflicted on if he should have stepped in many years before, but he’d felt it wasn’t his place. Shannon is her own woman, and she has to make choices on her own, and he’s made an effort to respect that. But he’s finished waiting. Her divorce is final, and he wants to finally ask her out on a date. He just hopes she’s ready to accept him.

What I Didn’t Like:

  • Honestly, nothing. I felt the novella was just the right length, and I enjoyed their tiny journey. I also loved the bonus epilogue that gave us a sneak peak into the next series!!

What I Liked:

  • The pacing was good. Even though it was a novella, things didn’t feel rushed. We’d seen their development over the course of the series, so we didn’t need all the initial meeting stuff. They just needed their HEA (spoiler alert, but not really cause it’s romance).
  • A couple of really good steamy scenes were put in, especially when they finally had their date and their moment together.
  • BONUS EPILOGUE

Overall:

Since the story was so short, there’s not much else to say. It was a great finale to a series I’ve enjoyed for over a year now. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Roland and Zoe, Chase and Brynn, Cooper and Amelia, and Leo and Hannah. If you are looking for a new contemporary romance series, this is one to definitely look into. I might be biased since Claire Kingsley is my fav.

Thank you so much for reading!
