Allow Me to Properly Re-Introduce Myself

Hello, readers and writers!

Some of you might already know me from following my blog or social media pages, but for those of you who don’t: Hi, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Madison Diaz and I’m a recent college graduate who’s been running this blog for about a year. I’ve run into many struggles throughout the year, but I absolutely love blogging and being in control of my own writing, so I’m excited to continue with you all!

About me

Until I’m able to update my About Me page, don’t check it! Just trust me here and now as I tell you about myself. I’ll start with the fact that I graduated December 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a minor in writing. I’ve learned as much as a college degree could teach me about different types of mass media, including social media, digital media, and some journalism.

I plan on continuing my education by applying to the MFA program at the same university I got my first degree from. As I continue to improve of my craft of writing, I’d love to continue sharing what I’ve learned with all of you. Right now, I’ve got two published novels out for your reading pleasure, and I’m working on my first series! I’m excited to hopefully have the first book out in Fall of 2019!

Why do I write?

Since the moment I understood the power of words, I was instantly drawn to notebooks and writing. Poems, songs, stories, etc. If I didn’t have a book in my hands, I was usually scribbling down words into a notebook that I had assumed no one would ever bother reading anyway.

I simply loved expressing myself through writing and choosing that medium of expression has always made sense to me. Nothing else has ever seemed to fit and has always felt forced. Using my imagination to create a story has always come naturally, and I plan to continue taking it further as I develop my craft through time.

Thank you all for taking this journey with me!

My intentions with this blog

I’m hoping to continue picking up steam as I write informational posts and book reviews. About six months ago, I was really making progress with my views, interactions, etc., but then I had to stop dedicating as much time when my last semester of college got in the way.

If I continue publishing readable content, I should be able to continue progressing, and eventually, my writing will pay for itself, right? I do what I do because I love it and it’s my dream, but sometimes following a dream can be hard, and I’ll make sure to continue sharing some of those realistic woes with you all because writing isn’t easy, and I wouldn’t want to give that impression to anyone else out there struggling.

My future posts will include:

  • the continuous progress of my work
  • writing and indie publishing tips to other authors
  • promotion for both myself and other similar authors I love

With that in mind, my pages and posts will range from:

  • my published work
  • work-in-progress posts
  • personal life
  • promotion for other similar authors (i.e., occasional book reviews and suggestions)
  • any future services I could provide to other indie authors traveling a similar path

If the romance genre interests you, specifically checking out the indie scene and the steps behind self-publishing, I would say to follow this blog. I will be giving tips, recommendations, and progress throughout my journey.

Feel free at any point to contact me for any advice or questions as we figure this whole authorship thing together 🙂

Also, check out the rest of my website as I have other fun things like a bio-page (it isn’t updated yet, but you could still check it out), some of my book reviews, and my published work!

I’m Madison

I write romance novels about sweet heroes and complex heroines with plenty of spice. Realism is an essential part of the crafting process, creating complicated characters who deal with real-life issues.

I have an MFA in Creative Writing and works as a contemporary romance ghostwriter. You might have read mywriting without realizing it! I’ve studied the craft since 2016, working hard to improve my writing to bring excellent stories to your Kindle and bookshelf.
