Hello, readers and writers!
I was very excited for this release, considering R.S. Grey is one of my favorites. She writes funny, romantic stories that are sweet with a slow-burn-type romance. She also does enemies-to-lovers so well. I wanted to see how arrogant and evil this devil really was and how Grey would be able to flip my views on him around and make me fall in love.
Meredith has really screwed up this time, finding herself traveling down to Texas from her “cushy” life in California. Her husband is more of a monster than anyone would ever admit to themselves, so she’s on her own, knowing anyone besides her estranged half-sister would send her straight back to him. Her sister sets up her up with a job, working under the devil himself, Jack. There’s hardly a person in the area who can stand to be around him, especially Meredith, but she has nowhere to go, so she’ll have to stick it out and deal with the arrogant devil himself.
What I Didn’t Like:
- Honestly, nothing. I truly enjoyed this read from beginning to end, and I really didn’t want it to end.
What I Liked:
- The setting. Although I’ve never lived on a farm, I’m from Texas, and I enjoyed seeing the friendly south from Meredith’s eyes. I also loved how quickly she fit in with everyone while Jack had a hard time getting anyone to enjoy his presence.
- The slow-burn of their relationship. Meredith and Jack’s relationship progressed so much through the novel as they started off as kind of an enemies-to-lovers then moved to friends-to-lover at an entertaining pace. I felt it wasn’t rushed at all, and I love that about R.S. Grey.
- The humor. Grey always has such silly parts in her books, and I absolutely love how approachable and relatable her female characters are for this reason. They’re cute and fun to read.
Totally loved this book! ♥♥♥♥♥ I recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet romance because you’ll seriously love the blooming romance between these two characters.
Thank you so much for reading!
